You are able to set maximum speed violations. Please view the information below to learn about speed settings, and how to enable maximum speed violations in the portal.
Speed Settings Overview:
LifeSaver Mobile has the ability to monitor, provide audible warnings, and record speeding violations for drivers. LifeSaver monitors speeding by periodically sampling a driver's speed as compared to posted speed limits as provided from third party services. Audible warnings for speeding can then be presented to drivers in a near real real-time manner.
Why use a sampling approach?
- Ensures a higher level of accuracy that speeding is occurring before penalizing the driver.
- By taking additional location services and posted speed samplings better reliability is achieved.
- Better identifies the persistent speeders
- With a sampling approach the worst offenders will still be identified over time without penalizing a driver speeding temporarily to pass slower vehicles, for example.
Maximum Speed Violations:
With LifeSaver Pro, you have the option to turn on Maximum Speed Violations for your drivers. When enabled, this feature will record a violation when a driver exceeds the maximum speed that you have set. This feature allows you to ensure that your drivers are not excessively speeding.
Enabling Maximum Speed Violations:
- In the portal, navigate to the Manage Corporate Policy page.
- Scroll down and locate the "Speeding" section.
- Toggle the "Report Speed Violations" setting to "ON".
- In the box below "Maximum Speed Violations" enter the maximum speed tolerated.
- At the bottom click "Save & Apply".
If a driver goes over the maximum speed entered in the box, they will incur a violation. For example, if the maximum speed is set to 75 MPH, when the driver goes 76 MPH, a violation will be triggered regardless of the posted speed limit. A Maximum Speed Violation will not be triggered if the driver stays at, or under, 75 MPH for the entire drive.
Note: Speeding violations are an additional charge. Reach out to support if you would like to add speeding violations to your account.
