How is the Driver Score Calculated?

Each driver's profile has an individual score associated with it, which is updated daily throughout the month and reset at the beginning of each month.

A monthly score is calculated based on the total number of violation points divided by the number of measured hours driven. The same is done for the monthly group scores with the average score being divided by the number of drivers in the group.

The monthly driver score is calculated using the following equation:

100 - ((sum of all violation points * weight multiplier) / total driving hours))

Examples:

Display Violation impact is:

Score = 100 - ((sum of all violation points * weight multiplier) / total driving hours)

Score = 100 - ((2 * 3) / 5)

Score = 100 - (6) / 5)

Score = 100 - 1.2

Score = 98.8

Score = 99 (rounded)

You can adjust the weight of each violation in the portal's Manage Corporate Policy page. There is a section labeled Monthly Score Settings, in which you see a list of violations and a dropdown with a number associated with each violation. You can adjust these for your corporate default or individual group. It is essential to hit Save after each change.

You can also adjust the weight multiplier by using the drop-down with the number. This will affect the score by adding more weight to the sum of all the violations committed by that driver.

Speeding Violation (with higher weight multiplier) impact is:

Score = 100 - ((sum of all violation points * weight multiplier) / total driving hours)

Score = 100 - ((4 * 10) / 5)

Score = 100 - (40) / 5)

Score = 100 - 8

Score = 92
