We know battery life is important to you and your drivers. As such, we are continuously optimizing the app to ensure it does not have a significant drain on phone battery life.
Like any navigation app that uses cell phone location, LifeSaver will use more battery when in a moving vehicle. When the app is at rest (not actively recording a drive) battery consumption is minimal. Additionally, LifeSaver does not continuously track driver location. Because of this, we are able to use less battery.
Here are our recommendations for conserving battery life while using LifeSaver:
-
Keep phones plugged in while driving. This will ensure the phone stays charged and your battery is not depleted during the drive.
-
Keep the LifeSaver app updated to the most recent version. Our product team is continuously making upgrades to the app and improvements to battery life as mobile device technology evolves, so you will want to make sure you get these battery life improvements with the LifeSaver app updates.
-
Use LifeSaver with newer phones if possible. Our app is optimized for phones that are less than 3-4 years old. As such, older phones will experience more battery consumption than newer phones.
